The Dumamizanak (Dw. The Outcasts) are those Dwarves banished from the Under-City for crimes, such as murder and rape, or general dishonour. Determined to reclaim their honour and status by slaying fell beasts, or dying honourably, the Dumamizanak become Slayers, frenzied fighters and warriors. They live within the walls of the Outer-City, in a district known as Dumakala, and are despised by the other Dwarves. Their houses are generally empty of all but the most rudimentary furniture, and their walls are lined with mighty weapons and troll carcasses. Their main administrative building is the Madaramanikarum (Dw. The Hall of the Honourable Dead) in which they meet, generally for large and riotous drinking affairs, and occasionally discussions.

Their is a slight sembelance of order within the Dumamizanak, based on slaying ability and strength. The average slayer is a Troll-slayer, and they roam the Ered-Glos and Troll Fells in search of trolls. Most slayers bring back the heads as trophies, and boast about their adventures in the Madaramanikarum. Higher up are the elite Giant-Slayers, originally troll-slayers who went to meet their death in the Norsa Mountains of Daenor. By killing a giant, they were automatically advanced into the higher ranks. The highest rank is Dragon-Slayer. No dragons exist within the area, and many giant-slayers travel far and wide to gain the title (most meeting their deaths). The only Dragon-Slayer currently existing is Gitrok Singebeard who, due to his status, is the unofficial leader of the Dumamizanak, living within the Madaramanikarum. Also living within the Hall are the Dinazikamora, the Slayers' priests. Most of these are voluntary priests who have come from the Under-city to pray for the souls of the damned. They are highly respected in amongst the Slayers, and often a group of three or four dwarves will group together, with the priest acting as their leader and spiritual guide.

The objective of the Dumamazinak is to meet their deaths in honourable battle. Those who are 'fortunate' enough to die are given a ceremony by the Ginat-slayers and Dragon-Slayer, to restore their honour and purify them. The king of Kazad-Ar will occasionally officiate over the rites, if the Slayer has done a particularly good deed, thus affirming the Slayer's redemption in the eyes of the king. This is rare, however.

The Dumamazinak wear very little in battle, shunning armour and shields. Their bodies are usually ornately tatooed, each picture telling a small story. In addition, most spike their hair and beards with troll-fat, giving them a fearsome look. Their most prized possession is the Kimakunaza, their 'lucky' weapon. This is the weapon the slayer used to kill his first troll, and from then on it is blessed by the few priests living in Dumakala, and decorated. To break a Kimakunaza is a terrible omen to the Slayers, and will usually lead to a dishonourable death.
